Do I need to layer protective clothing for maximum protection

The ability to layer, mix and match your flame resistant clothing is essential to staying safe and comfortable in any work environment. Varying conditions require flexibility and versatility, so that you can remove or add protective clothing according to your specific needs.

Can fire retardant (FR) treatments be washed out?

Fire retardant (FR) treatments can wash out over time, diminishing the flame resistant quality of a garment and shortening its lifespan. Because protective garments are often laundered under industrial wash conditions, they are designed and capable of withstanding a number of industrial launderings. Follow product care instructions carefully, as any incorrect laundering will shorten the life of the garment.Nomex does not require any fire retardant (FR) treatment, as it is an inherently flame resistant material.

What is the average lifespan of fire retardant (FR) garments?

Most fire retardant (FR) garments have a life expectancy between 2-5 years, depending on the fabric content and how the garment is cared for. Follow product care instructions carefully, any incorrect laundering will shorten the life of the garment.

New Accounts

How can I pay for my purchases?

Northern Workwear Ltd. has a variety of payment options to choose from.

INVOICE
Invoice upon credit approval. Our terms are NET30, payable by company cheque or credit card. If you are a new customer interested in a terms account, a credit application should be submitted for pre-approval before placing an order. To request a credit application, please contact Customer Service toll-free at 1-888-767-2085. Completed credit applications can be faxed or emailed with your purchase order to our customer service department at 1-902-431-8307 or info@northernworwearltd.ca. Once your credit application is approved, a customer service representative will notify you of acceptance and credit limit.

Shipping

How will my order be shipped?

All orders will be shipped using your choice of transport company. Please provide account information and level of service required when ordering. Now shipping to the United States by UPS.

Where do you ship to?

Northern Workwear Ltd. currently ships within Canada and the USA. Shipments to the United States will be sent by UPS.

Is local pickup available?

Yes. Local pickup is available if you are in the Halifax area.

Returns

What is your return policy?

In the event an item needs to be returned, please e-mail, fax, or contact one of our customer service representatives. You will be issued a Return Authorization Number which must accompany the garment when it is returned along with a reason for the return. Returns must be sent via prepaid freight. If an item is sent freight collect, we reserve the right to deduct the collect freight amount from the credit or to charge this amount to the account. If a product is returned for inspection and is found to have a manufacturer’s defect, Northern Workwear Ltd. will credit the return freight.

Items shipped as ordered, if accepted as a return, will be subject to a 15% restocking fee. Special order items are not subject for return.
